Social Media Marketing

Social Media Marketing is the latest, most exciting, and possibly most confusing of the Internet marketing options available to businesses. It consists of a bewildering number of websites and services. The challenge for any business is to identify which sites to participate on and how to do it once you decide.

SM marketing requires more effort than traditional marketing because it demands a conversation rather than a monologue. Compounding the challenge is that the conversation takes place in public, in something like real time.

You can choose not to have a voice in social media, but you can't choose to disappear. Even if you aren't in the room, your customers (and employees) are, and they're talking about you. Right now there's an advantage to businesses who participate. Soon it will be a requirement and latecomers will be at a disadvantage.
